A Poem about Anchor Beverage and Discount Tobacco

Stand aside you sick men at the beverage center

I have come to buy my soda and I am the beauty of South Glens Falls

Hold your chew till I pass

and raise your eyebrows as I pull out the exact change

I have lived next to the discount beverage center all of my life

I know these men, these products

I am bowed down in a rediculous posture of renewal and the clerk asks for the 1,000th time

“are you the girl that lives next store? I thought so.”
